The Hague Academy for Local Governance is delighted to announce that the deadline for two of its upcoming training courses has now been extended to May 5. Suzanne Jansen and Emmely Benschop, programme managers of the courses on Local Economic Development and Peacebuilding in Fragile States, however urge potential applicants to be quick as the last few places for these contested programmes will soon be filled up.
Emmely Benschop, programme manager of the training course "Peacebuilding & Local Governance" is excited about the upcoming programme, which takes place in The Hague from May 31 until June 11. "We received applications from all across the world and are confident that this training programme will shed much needed light on the process of democratisation in countries torn apart by war or ethnic strife," Benschop explained. According to Suzanne Jansen, who coordinates the "Local Economic Development" course ( June 13 - 18), "the great demand for this course clearly demonstrates how much professionals that work in the realm of local governance are looking for practice-oriented, participatory training programmes on local development strategies."
The very last places for both training programmes are now open for motivated applicants, both from The Netherlands and abroad. Over the past years, the Hague Academy for Local Governance has gained an excellent reputation for the quality of its innovative training programmes and is determined to continuously support local governments and professional capacity building worldwide.
